Electric mobility startup Tork Motors has opened its first experience center in Pune, Maharashtra, with the aim of reaching the brand’s customers. The new hub will house Tork Kratos and Kratos R electric scooters, deliveries of which have recently begun in the city. While Pune was the first city to have an experience hub, the company has plans for more hubs in seven cities including Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Thane and Mumbai by March 2023.
Speaking about the announcement, Kapil Shelke, Founder and CEO – Tork Motors, said: “We are delighted to introduce the first Tork Experience center in Pune to our customers. The center is designed to provide a unique experience for Tork customers based in and around Pune. The showroom with state-of-the-art interactive features will bring the perfect combination of digital and physical rendezvous to visitors. This inauguration is a step towards achieving our strategic vision, as it will also serve as an outlet model for business prospects. In the future, we will offer this experience center to other cities to cater to the growing popularity of Kratos in the country.”
The new Tork Experience Center is located near the University of Law in Pune and will be a pilot program for the brand, helping the brand connect with customers. The company says the new hub will offer the best combination of digital and physical formats. The experience center will not only act as a brand builder, but also help customers book a car. So far, the brand has been taking orders online and has delivered Kratos e-scooters to customers in Pune and Mumbai. Tork Motors also plans to open a second experience center in Pune, which will be located in Pimpri Chinchwad.
Speaking to HT Auto, Kapil Shelke said that second center will span over 5,000 square feet and will also include a service center in the same vicinity.
He further explained, “We are doing D2C sales in terms of online booking. We are trying to give our customers all the information before they come to the experience store. So experience shops and will be located by dealers all over India. We are setting up in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Thane. Here are a few cities that we have registered with agents and they are currently working on it.”
The new experience centers will also host test drives for customers while the brand will conduct its own test-drive events at go-kart tracks in different cities to get a feel for the thrills. What the product offers. Shelke explains that the controlled environment of the track will help customers better understand the company’s electric motorcycles.
Tork Kratos and Kratos R were launched in January this year with prices starting from $1.22 lakh for the former and Rs. 1.37 thousand for the latter. All prices are old prices after subsidies in Maharashtra. The standard Kratos is equipped with an Axial Flux type electric motor with a capacity of 7.5 kW (10 hp) and maximum torque of 28 Nm with a maximum speed of 100 km/h. The more powerful Kratos R has a 9 kW (12 hp) engine with a maximum torque of 38 Nm, a top speed of 120 km/h. The company claims a range of 180 km (IDC) on a single charge from the 4 kWh battery pack, while the actual range is said to be 120 km.
