Top Promoter Calls Mike Tyson ‘The Thug and the Bully’

To be fair, there is no one like Mike Tyson in the sport of boxing. From sayings like ‘I want to eat your kids’ in post-match interviews to crying and showing his emotional side on podcasts, he is truly one-of-a-kind.

Frank Warren, 70, who cheers for Tyson’s fights in the UK shared his thoughts on Mike ‘Iron’ with Guard and gave some insight into how he lost the battles he lost.

While many in the sport see the former heavyweight champion as a villain or something, the London promoter is not at all interested.

“He is a terribly manipulative bully. Every warrior has defeated him, he cannot threaten. Whoever he hits, he can threaten. If he can’t threaten you, it’s a killer for him.”

“He’s a fascinating character, he’s one of those people that makes you feel that he’s misunderstood, but when you get the hang of it, he’s who he is, he’s a thug, a kidnapper. bully and a man who despises women.”

Warren said Tyson once punched him in a hotel room, so it’s no surprise that they won’t be on each other’s Christmas cards.

The Hall of Fame promoter spoke about Tyson prior to the release of the Hulu TV mini-series, Mike, a series that explores the wild childhood Tyson spent growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York. The boxer has expressed anger over the production and accused the channel of stealing his story.

Tyson has fought twice on UK soil, both in 2000. The first was in Manchester when he stopped British boxer Julius Francis in the second round. The second came a few months later at Hampden Park in Glasgow, where he knocked out fellow American Lou Savarese in one round.
