NEW DELHI: Jammu and KashmirSuperintendent (Prison) Hemant K Lohia was found murdered at his residence in Jammu on Monday with a throat cut and burn wounds on his body.
Police say his domestic helper, who is currently missing, is the prime suspect in the case.

The killer strangled Lohia to death and also used a broken ketchup bottle to slit his throat and then tried to burn the body, Singh said.
Guards present at the officer’s residence saw flames inside his room. They had to break the door because it was locked from the inside, the ADGP said.
He said the preliminary examination of the scene points towards murder.
Alleged domestic help
Police said that Lohia’s housekeeper, Yasir Lohar, a resident of Halla-Dhandrath village, Ramban district, is the main suspect in the case.
Several teams have been set up to track down the 23-year-old suspect, officials said.

The ADGP said CCTV footage obtained from the scene of the incident showed the suspect had fled after committing the crime.

However, ADGP Singh said no terrorist links emerged according to the initial investigation.
“A thorough investigation is being carried out to rule out all possibilities. The criminal weapon was seized along with some documentary evidence reflecting his (housekeeper) mental state,” he said.
The incident happened at a time when Union Home Minister Amit Shah was on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
