While NASCAR’s Next Generation cars will make their first visit to Darlington Speedway this weekend, the teams have fitted new cars to honor the sport’s past. NASCAR’s comeback weekend has been a perennial highlight of the season since its introduction in 2015. This weekend is joined by the Southern 500 at the popular South Carolina highway through 2020.
In 2021, the holiday weekend is moved to the 400-mile Spring Revival race at Darlington. This year, more than half of the NASCAR Cup Series arena will race with a reverse paint scheme in the Goodyear 400. A lot of homage has been made to the past of certain teams, old racers who are iconic. Iconic and active riders have been in the Cup Series long enough to come back to their own.
