After a lull in sales, Ola Electric returned as India’s top maker of electric two-wheelers in October.

The electric two-wheeler segment in India saw its best month ever in October. With the wave of carnival frenzy, the two-wheeler EV manufacturers posted more than half of their sales. 75,000 units last month, almost 30% more than what they sold during the festive month of last year. It’s also significantly higher than September’s sales figure, its highest level ever until October. Last month’s spike in EV two-wheeler sales was due to Ola Palace and Okinawa Autotech. Here is a list of the top five electric two-wheeler brands in India by October sales.

Ola Palace

Ola Electric is back as the number one electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India. October is the second consecutive month Ola topped the list. Tamil Nadu-based electric vehicle maker claims it has sold 20,000 units S1 and the S1 Pro electric motorcycle, a record for the company since it launched the models in August 2021. However, according to the Vahan portal, Ola only sold 15,065 units. Either way, the Ola is clearly miles ahead of the others in the EV two-wheeler space.

Okinawa Autotech

The Rajasthan, Okinawa-based electric vehicle maker also posted its highest monthly sales in October. The company announced it sold 17,531 units last month. Jeetender Sharma, MD & Founder, Okinawa Autotech, explaining the increase in sales said that, “Customer sentiment has improved post-pandemic and we are confident to continue this sales momentum in the coming months.”

Amps

Electric two-wheeler maker Ampere, owned by Greaves Cotton, became the third-largest electric vehicle maker in October. The company sold 9,173 electric scooters last month.

Hero Electric saw a slight increase in sales last month compared to September’s figures. Hero Electric sold 8,348 units in October, slightly higher than the 8,018 units sold in the previous month.

Energy Ather

Ather Energy saw its sales double in October compared to the same month last year. With 8213 units of 450X and other EVs delivered, Ather recorded a significant growth of 122% year over year. Of these, Ather distributed 250 units Ather 450X in a single day in Bengaluru on Diwali.
