Tony Rock Speaks Before the Oscars The Incident Between Chris Rock and Will Smith
Boom boom! Tony Rock kicked off his stand-up comedy routine on Friday by reminding audiences of the Oscars slap involving his brother Chris and Will Smith.
In a #TSRExclusive clip, Tony can be seen opening his Raleigh, North Carolina performance with the warning, “If you think you’re going to step on this stage, this isn’t muthaf – was was awarded an Oscar.”
“And if you walk up here, you are nominated for nothing but these minions!” he exclaimed. “Oh, we’re going to boom the rest of the year. Every time you see me perform, turn up! ”
“I don’t want to start the show like that!” He continued, raising his hand to the sky. “You’re going to hit my mother — on brother because your bitch gave you an eye?”
This is the second time Tony has mentioned the incident. Earlier this week, Tony shared his thoughts on what happened during his Q&A session on Twitter, 20 questions on Tuesday. Where he replied “It’s on the brother” when asked if he plans to “fight fire with fire” or go the “professional route.”
The show took place a few hours after Will released a declare announced his resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Although he has resigned, the Board of Directors is still scheduled to meet on April 18.
