Tony “La Conquete” Yoka Upset by Martin Bakole!


Via Ken Hissner: At Accord Hotels and Arena, Paris Xll, Paris, France, in front of a packed house on ESPN+ Saturday Allstar Boxing was attended by Main Event Gold Medalist and EBU Heavyweight Champion Tony “La Conquete” Yoka of France, who beat twice lost a game decisively to Martin “Makabu” Bakole of the Democratic Party of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Scotland, United Kingdom, over 10 rounds.

In the first round, Yoka started to move using her stab very well. In the final half-minute, Bakole rocked Yoka with one right that sent him into the rope and followed by another that dropped Yoka for referee Vincent Dupas to count eight points. In the second round, Bakole continued to beat Yoka easily winning another round. In the third round, Bakole drew blood from Yoka’s nose and a cut on his left eyebrow.
In the fourth round, Bakole used a solid left hook while any Yoka landing on the right received cheers from the crowd despite losing another round. In the fifth part, Bakole stepped on Yoka’s foot causing Yoka to go to the canvas and referee Dupas gave a knockdown. In the sixth round, Yoka had his best round but not enough to win as Bakole landed less.
In the seventh round, Yoka knocked out Bakole in the first minute. Bakole has slowed down in the last half.
In the eighth round, Yoka did well when Bakole signaled him to stay still because he was slowed down to not chase Yoka.. In the ninth round, both fighters barely threw apart a few punches. In the tenth and final round, Yoka moved around only to finish off with her footing without hitting a punch in the first half of the round as Bakole did enough to easily win a big match. .

Olympic lightweight silver medalist Sofiane Oumiha, 2-0 (1), of Toulouse, Haute-Garonne, FR, beat Mevy “Sans Issue” Boufoudi, 8-1 (3), of Fontenay-sous-Bois, Valle-de-Marne , FR, more than 8 rounds.
In the first two innings, Boufoudi switched from mainstream to nampaw and stepped back more than holding back against the favored Olympian. In the final seconds of the third round, Boufoudi knocked Oumiha down and nearly lifted him over the rope. In the fifth round, the action continued with little choice between the two fighters with Oumiha showing in this round.
In the sixth round, Boufoudi lost his mouth for the third time because he was penalized by one point. Oumiha seemed to be a bit ahead but gave up on Boufoudi. In the seventh round, a hit to Oumiha’s right chin knocked out the mouth for the fourth time, costing Boufoudi another point. In the eighth and final round, Oumiha tried to finish Boufoudi but the latter failed to do so in eight very competitive rounds.
This writer had it 77-71 due to losing to the loser by 2 points. The referee is Smail Alitouche.
Lightweight Christ “Little T” Esabe, 12-0 (3), of Les Mureaux, Yvelines, FR, beat Sander Diaz, 13-9-1 (9), of Valencia, Comunidad, Valenciana, VZ, over 8 rounds immediately.
In the first four innings, Esabe used a quick jab and left hook into his body against the lower Diaz, who held himself and scored with some right to the chin. At the last minute of the fifth round, Esabe sucked Diaz’s nose.
In the seventh inning, the body attack from Esabe took a toll on Diaz, who was slowing down with his offense. Esabe plays in front of a crowd, who cheers for his combos. In the eighth and final round, Esabe rocked Diaz with a one-minute chin punch into the round. In the last minute, once again, Esable landed right on Diaz’s chin and knee. In the final twenty seconds, a left hook to the chin injured Diaz, who was bleeding from his nose and mouth but was doing his best.
