According to Hawk, the “plan” was to develop remakes for THPS 3 and 4 after the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 remakes. However, that plan became complicated after Activision merged THPS1. and 2 developers Vicarious Visions into the Snowstorm.
“The truth is they’re trying to find someone to do [Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater] 3 and 4, but they didn’t really trust anyone the way they did with Vicarious, so they took offers from other studios,” Hawk said in the clip.
