Recently, former professional skateboarder Tony Hawk confirmed that he “talk to Activision again” in reference to his popular video game franchise. While we can confidently assume this means future entries are likely in the works, we now have further confirmation from Birdman himself via Instagram (Thank, VGC).

Posted in the last 24 hours at the time of writing, Hawk celebrated the 25th anniversary of the original’s release Tony Hawk’s professional skaterwas released on September 29, 1999 for the PS1, with the N64 version following shortly after. He ended the post with a tantalizing tease about a potential new game, saying “I’m not allowed to tease anything else about the future of the series; but there will be a future” .

This is practically confirmation of a new entry at this point, right? However, that form is currently unknown. Is it a remake of Professional ice skater 3 And 4 that we all look forward to? Maybe the sixth official title? Or maybe a new one Tony Hawk: GO GO? Please, no…

Either way, it’s getting us pretty excited. After the disaster year Professional ice skater 5The franchise quickly got back on track with the remake developed by Vicarious Visions, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. Alas, although that particular team is no more, it seems that Activision-Blizzard is hoping to revive the franchise in the not too distant future.
