Powerball’s jackpot rose to $825 million ahead of Saturday night’s draw – the fifth-largest lottery jackpot in US history.
And if no one wins tonight’s grand prize, the grand prize is expected to hit $1 billion in “goods” for the next draw scheduled for Halloween night, October 31, according to Powerball.com.
Saturday’s grand prize is the second-biggest in Powerball history. In 2016, three winners from California, Florida and Tennessee split Powerball jackpot record $1.57 billion.
The last time someone hit all six Powerball numbers was on August 3 – there have been 36 consecutive spins without a winner, according to Powerball.
The pot is already 700 million dollars for Wednesday’s drawing, but rose to $825 million on Friday due to strong ticket sales, according to Powerball.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, in addition to Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and in the US Virgin Islands.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
