Tom Ford appoints Peter Hawkings as new creative director

Estee Lauder Company (ELC) Inc. announced on Friday the appointment of Peter Hawkings to the role of creative director at tomfordbesides hiring Guillaume Jesel, the new CEO of the US fashion brand.

Hawkings will succeed eponymous designer Tom Ford in a new role as creative director of fashion, including womenswear, menswear and accessories, and will assume the role of lead designer for the brand. fashion segment and fashion show.

The designer has worked with Tom Ford for nearly 25 years, most recently as senior vice president of Tom Ford menswear. Prior to joining Tom Ford in 2006, where he was responsible for overseeing the design and production of all Tom Ford men’s clothing including tailoring, sportswear, leather goods and accessories, Hawkings began beginning his career in 1998 in gucci under the leadership of Ford and worked closely with the designer in the development of Gucci menswear collections.

Likewise, Jesel brings nearly a decade of brand leadership, including Tom Ford Beauty, to its new CEO position at Tom Ford. In this role, he will report to ELC executive leaders Jane Hertzmark Hudis, executive team president, and Tracey Travis, executive vice president and chief financial officer.

ELC first announced it had acquired the Tom Ford brand in November last year. With a purchase price of $2.8 billion, the cosmetics giant beats the French luxury group Keringwho is also rumored to be racing to acquire the US fashion label.

The acquisition includes an expansion of Tom Ford’s existing relationship with Ermenegildo Zegna to include long-term licenses for all men’s and women’s fashion, as well as accessories and lingerie. As part of the transaction, Zegna also acquired the Tom Ford fashion business.

Furthermore, Tom Ford’s existing license with global eyewear maker Marcolin has also been renewed.
