Tom Crean fired as head coach of Georgia
The Georgia Bulldogs will be hunting for a new head coach after parting ways with Tom Crean on Thursday.
Crean is not a Georgia coach, as first reported by Seth Emerson of The Athletic. The news comes after the Bulldogs ended the season 6–26 with a 35-point loss to Vanderbilt in the SEC tournament on Wednesday.
Crean was seen as a big hire for Georgia when he arrived ahead of the 2018-19 season. To say it was unsuccessful would be an overstatement. The Bulldogs have never reached post-season in four seasons under Crean, with a 14-12 record in their only winning 2020-21 season. Crean hit 47-75 overall as Georgia head coach, with a record of just 15-57 in the SEC game.
In addition to the record, Crean’s condition seems to be sealed by some bad reports at the beginning of the season. This is not surprising at all.
