Tom Brady says he won’t start as NFL TV analyst until 2024 season
Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady said on Monday he will wait until the 2024 NFL season to begin his new role as a television commentator after retiring last week.
The 45-year-old former signal caller announced last Wednesday that he is ending his playing career forever after ending his brief retirement last year for one final campaign with Tampa. Fly, in which the Buccaneers were eliminated in the first round.
In 2022, Brady was announced as a commentator for Fox Sports after he retired. But Brady plans to wait and learn next season before bringing his talent to the booth.
Brady told Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd: “I want to be excellent at what I do. “I spoke last week with the folks at Fox Sports and it’s been fantastic for me that the management there has allowed me to kick off my opportunity in the fall of 2024.
“Take the time to really learn, be excellent at what I want to do, be excellent at thinking about opportunities, and make sure I’m not in a hurry in anything.”
Brady said he’s looking forward to a new challenge after 23 years in the NFL.
“Life has interesting things ahead of it,” Brady said. “I love my time in football… it’s hard to make decisions like that, but it’s certainly the right time.”
