Everyone needs a day to come back, relax and recover, and brave cat is no different! The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback opened up about a recent report that he will be given one day off per week during the 2022 NFL season in a new discussion as part of his SiriusXM podcast. “Let’s go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Grey.” Tom, 45, admits that in part the decision was down to how hard he worked over the years throughout the season.
Tom is expected to be given a day off a week for the whole season, where he will sit out after a team practice session. It won’t affect any games, but sources reveal that he will receive every Wednesday as a “veter day of rest” throughout the season to NFL Network. During rest days, Bucs fallback to QB Blaine Gabbert will participate in group practice on behalf of Tom.
With the surprising news, Tom’s podcast co-hosts asked him what day off he would get, Tom explained that he wasn’t sure if Wednesday was the set day, but he admits that after more than two decades on the field for weekend games throughout the season, he’s happy to have some downtime. “In fact I worked on the weekend For the past 23 years, I’ve deserved a day off a week so I thought maybe, and I don’t know if it’s Wednesday, but I do get Tuesday. That is probably good enough for me,“He said on the SiriusXM podcast.
Although he is taking a day off, Tom and the Buccaneers have had a great start to the 2022 season. Tampa has won both games so far, against the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. Despite the win over New Orleans, Tom was disappointed his team had fallen early in the game, and was seen throw a tablet. Then he sorry for the outburst in a video on Twitter. “Sorry for breaking that tablet. I thought it would be another Twitter meme or something like that,” he said.
