Today’s Warhammer 40K: Darktide update brings a new map and stable target

Future co-op action game Warhammer 40,000: Dark Tide Get the first major update today. Dubbed the “content drop,” you and your three darkest friends can now join the new Comms Plex map. Zealots and Ogryns are also getting a new weapon, both with powerups. Patch 1.0.20 arrives with today’s update, bringing with it a long list of bug fixes and tweaks aimed at stabilizing the game.

Darktide lets you unleash your grimest Warhammer fantasy with three friends.

The update adds some new content to Darktide, which is due out in late November. One of the main additions is the Comms-Plex 154/2f map, which tasks you and the band with not much fun. Get your look on Comms Plex and onto the roof of the HL-19-24 Archivum. There, you will have to send a message to allies in the Imperium. Zealots can pick up the two-handed electric mallet Indignatus Mk IVe Crusher, while Ogryns can wield Achlys Mk I with one of their giant gauntlets.

With the update, Darktide now supports private games for 2 to 4 players. To start private play, you can simply select that when starting a mission from the quest panel. There is also a new crafting option called Refinement, available in Shrine Of The Omnissiah. Tweaking a single privilege reduces the resource cost of that privilege, but choosing to tweak any particular privilege will disqualify you from the others.

Patch 1.0.20 addresses a multitude of issues with everything from weapons to animations and character customization. It also brings 2400 of the game’s Aquilas currency for players to purchase, which means you can get cosmetic packs without having to buy more Aquilas if you want. Since Fatshark’s newest game is another co-op, Ed, AliceO, James, and Liam have included it in our old four-reviewer list. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Review. “What if Left 4 Dead is set in the strange future of humanity, where we are caught in an eternal war with aliens and demons and are almost unstoppable in the universe? a fascist regime that worships a man who is quite adamant that he is not a god?” AliceO considers. “Well, you’ll have a glorious time weaving your way through towering Gothic factories and slaying heretics with your friends.”

The dark tide is on Steam and Microsoft Store for £33/$40/€40. If you’re a PC Game Pass subscriber, you can download it that way, too.
