According to Jordan’s family, the 25-year-old woman has the mental capacity of a young man. On November 26, 2017, her mother notified the Clay County Sheriff’s Office that she was missing. The neighborhood police department then launched a substantial search effort.
Two weeks later, detectives found Cooper dead and covered with insulation in the attic of a home. Near her body, her clothes and bed were found, but her underwear was not. They also discovered a used tape.
Cooper had cuts and scrapes on his legs, neck and chest, according to the medical examiner. Cooper died of suffocation, according to an autopsy, and a sexual assault kit was collected.
As the hunt for the suspect continued, Turner was the only person of interest in a separate grand theft and burglary investigation. Turner was arrested by police on those charges in December 2017.

Florida Law Enforcement executed a search warrant and removed the panties for inspection. The underwear’s DNA matched Cooper’s.
Furthermore, Turner’s DNA matched DNA obtained from the Sexual Assault Kit and the adhesive tape. Following the test results, Turner was detained.
