3.27 Doncaster – Savvy Victory tops the quality quartet for the feature clash

James Doyle could well be the star of the show at Doncaster on Saturday as the British Classics doubles rider is booked for the top five rides.

In feature Eric Roberts Memorial Handicap (3.27pm) he partnered with coach Sean Woods in the third grade Savvy Victorywhere they faced off against three older competitors in a two-quarter-mile competition.

Doyle made his debut when he was brought into Group Two company during the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, finishing last out of six, but a step back on the trip and resisted little opposition than may see the victor’s return to the siege.

The main threat could come from ‘five-year-old William Haggas’ Protagonistwho had a promising start to his new coach when he finished fourth in a similar competition at Sandown earlier this month.

Previously coached by Jessica Harrington, Protagonist has been active at this level for the past two years and his experience could prove crucial in this small field.

Keith Dalgleish’s Chichester rated out of 100 but needs to recover from two disappointing attempts at Ascot and York, while Saeed bin Suroor is lightly rated Moving light completed the lineup and started for the first time since last October.
