To avoid governor’s address, Kerala decides not to prorogue House | India News
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala cabinets decided on Wednesday to convene congress budget session in January as a follow-up to an interim Saturday session that ended the previous day without informing the governor, who was at odds with the government on a range of issues, including recruitment in universities and personal staff of ministers.
It is known that the cabinet has decided not to notify the governor Arif Mohammed Khan about prediction because if an announcement is made and shared with him, the next session will be considered new. The first session of the new year should begin with the governor’s policy speech, and the government’s move is seen as an attempt to avoid that.
However, the next session will have to start with the governor’s speech, which means the government can only buy time through the current move without having to create the situation.
The seventh session was convened in seven days of December 5 and passed bills to remove the governor as chancellor of the state’s colleges – again seen as a reaction. tit-for-tat for Khan’s recent harassment and firing of several vice principals.
The cabinet has further assigned chief secretary Sarada Muraleedharan to compile the necessary data for the governor’s address. The move is known to be to keep it ready in case any legal troubles arise.
