Three staff members killed in school shooting, local media report
Three staff members at a high school in northwestern Bosnia have been killed in a shooting by a colleague, local media report.
Bosnian police said the gunman used an automatic rifle to kill school staff before killing himself, adding that he was in critical condition in hospital.
Initial local media reports said the gunman was the custodian of Sanski Most school.
The shooting happened during Bosnia’s summer holidays.
Police said they received reports that a man had opened fire at the school at about 10:00 local time (08:00 GMT).
Adnan Beganovic, a regional police spokesman, told reporters that the shooter had attempted suicide and was seriously injured.
Police did not say whether there was a motive, but Bosnian media reported that the employee had been suspended and opened fire during a school committee meeting.
He was taken to hospital in the town of Banja Luka.
Bosnian media reported that the school’s principal, secretary and English teacher were killed in the attack.
