This week’s Hogwarts Legacy gameplay reveal for state play

Hogwarts Legacy, the long-awaited and mysterious role-playing game set in the Harry Potter universe, is finally getting its first level in a new State of play that airs this week.

PlayStation tweeted the news this morning saying that the presentation airs on Thursday, March 17 at 2pm Pacific / 5pm Eastern. There’s no word on its length, but the tweet refers to it as an “extended look,” so hopefully that means we’re getting a deep dive into everything the Hogwarts Legacy entails.

Hogwarts Legacy was first announced in Introducing PlayStation 5 in 2020. The open-world action role-playing game puts you in the role of a Hogwarts student and is being developed by Avalanche Software. Author JK Rowling has not involved in the game development, which has been the concern of some fans after her controversial statements about the transgender community in recent years. Hogwarts Legacy was originally slated to launch in 2021, but in January of that year, it was delayed until 2022.

While Hogwarts Legacy is primarily shown on PlayStation stages and is coming to PS5 and PS4, it will also launch on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
