This week’s football schedule: Premier League, Champions League and WSL between leagues will resume | Football news

What matches across England were playing as football began to flourish following the death of Queen Elizabeth II?

Football across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland was postponed last weekend as a tribute to the Queen after she passed away aged 96 on Thursday.

Almost Premier League fixtures will be broadcast later this week, but the lack of police numbers means Manchester United vs Leeds and Chelsea vs Liverpool Sunday was adjourned because of a lack of police numbers.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace was postponed due to rail strikes.

All of Champions League Matches involving British teams will continue, though Rangers vs Napoli has been rescheduled 24 hours to Wednesday, while Arsenal vs PSV is the only one Europa League or Europa Conference League match was postponed.

EFL and No alliance matches will resume from Tuesday, while the FA has confirmed Women’s Super Prize and field football will also return this weekend.

The FA also said that all football will be suspended on Monday, September 19th The Queen’s funeral at Westminster Abbey.

Director Constable Mark Roberts, Head of Football Policy at the NPCC, said: “I am grateful for the discussions we have had with the Premier League, the Football Association and the Football Association.

“These negotiations have aided us in our commitment to the police of national events following the death of Her Majesty the Queen, while also enabling the majority of games to take place over the weekend. This is scheduled.

“It’s unfortunate that a small number of matches have had to be postponed, but I’m sure fans will understand why this decision has been made.”
