Paytm and PhonePe is one of the popular online payment apps in India. They allow users to pay utility bills and perform other transactions online at their convenience. Online payment services like Paytm and PhonePe used to offer mobile recharge cashbacks to entice users to use them more often. However, due to the platform fees that these digital payment apps started to impose, users are now being charged more for services like bill payment, mobile number top-ups, etc. motion and more.
On the PhonePe app, regardless of the payment method, there is a platform fee to use PhonePe to pay bills and recharge, and the fee includes GST. However, if mobile recharge If unsuccessful, the platform fee and the deposited amount paid (including GST) will be refunded to the user.
How much it costs?
The two apps use different platform fees. A platform fee of Rs 1 will be applied when you top up your mobile number using Paytm app with an amount over Rs 100. PhonePe app charges a platform fee of Rs 1 when you deposit over Rs 50 and Rs 2 for deposits over Rs 100. No platform fee will be added to deposits less than the predetermined amount.
Customers who want to avoid additional fees can transfer their mobile charges to other payment platforms such as Google Pay and Amazon Pay, does not currently impose any convenience fees on users. In addition to having their own apps available for both Android and iOS, the major telecom providers (Airtel, Jio and Vodafone Ideas) also supports in-app recharge via UPI and other payment methods.
