A new game defeated Elden Ring when it sold the most copies in July. We’re talking about MultiverseNew game from Warner Bros. emerged as the best-selling game in July, despite launching only on Steam as reported by the NPD analysis team. The report looks at both retail and digital sales of games.
While Multiverses is a free-to-play platform fighter, the main source of its success and revenue generation is the “Founders Pack” which allows players to unlock fighters via tickets figure. Besides, microtransactions are also in the game. And undeniably loads of characters are bound to expand its player base.
Multiverses has usurped Elden Ring from the top spot even though FromSoftware’s action RPG has been at the top for the whole year and has sold nearly 17 million copies since its launch in February. With the story collaboration of famed writer George RR Martin and game director Hidetaka Miyazaki, the fantasy RPG has been a resounding success.
Rounding off the list of 5 best selling games is Lego star wars: The Skywalker Saga, XenoBlade Chronicles 3 and Call of Duty: Vanguard. Interestingly, the NPD’s report does not take into account digital sales for XenoBlade Chronicles 3. The same can be said for the XenoBlade Chronicles 3. Mario Kart 8, ranked seventh on the list. The report also didn’t look at Xbox and Digital sales for MLB: The Show 22, which came in at sixth.
The eighth, ninth and tenth places in the list of 10 best selling games for July went to Digimon Survive, Minecraft and F1 22.
