This $340,000 luxury camper is solar-powered and self-sustainable
Maybe you’re looking to retire from the grid this summer and you want to do so in luxury.
If that’s the case – and you have $340,000 to spare – you might want to check Living Vehicle’s 2023 luxury camper van. The company is based in Santa Barbara, California disclosure A trailer for the all-sustainable, solar-powered camper van last month, said it was aimed at customers who wanted to “get away from overcrowded campgrounds and RV parks.”
The 29-foot camper is equipped with a solar system for full power a mobile office stocked with Apple products. The company says it’s also the first to produce its own drinking water from thin air: A camper’s atmospheric water generator, made by Israeli startup Watergen, draws moisture from the air to create it. 5 gallons of drinking water per day.
Self-sustaining systems that you may never need to stock up on water or fuel – although, in an emergency, campers are equipped to store up to 100 gallons of water and 80 pounds of propane for the hob food, heating and backup generators, if needed. The idea is to keep people “off the grid for longer than ever,” Living Vehicle said in its announcement.
So it just so happens that they will do so in style. With prices starting at $339,995, the trailer’s luxury features include an 8-foot sliding door leading to a foldable patio under an optional solar awning and a queen-sized bedroom, where The memory foam bed folds against the wall to create a mobile office with an 80-inch walnut desk and Apple’s 32-inch Pro Display Retina 6K display.
The six-speaker sound system means the office can also become something of a home theater.
The dining and lounge area doubles as the guest bedroom, with another pull-out bed – meaning a camper in total can sleep at least four people at once. There is also an additional fee option to increase the sleeping capacity to six with a drop-down bunk bed in the lounge that can be pulled down from the ceiling.
