They ditched Stanford to build India’s next tech unicorn

Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra founded Zepto just a year ago and it’s already one of India’s fastest growing “fast commerce” apps. CNBC Make It Goh Chiew Tong talks to two 19-year-olds to learn how they left Stanford University and built a $900 million instant grocery app.
Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra are the founders of Zepto, an Indian startup that promises to deliver groceries in less than 10 minutes. The company is just one of many participating in the “rapid” or “instant” commercial wave.
Childhood friends set up a business in July 2021 – in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Operations began two months later.
Zepto says it is now adding 100,000 new users a day.
