Hands down, the 2006 refresh of the Ram 1500. The 02-05 is handsome, refined, and for the time being, the interior is striking. (a lot of what makes the current generation such a great design is true for that 03-05 model)
Then, in 2006, Chrysler executives clearly decided the Ram was just a pretty car and it didn’t make sense to spend money on a nice interior when trucks printed money no matter what. What happened next was a farce. They’ve changed all of the interior to harder plastic, and the handsome, curved, thin black dashboard has been replaced with extremely light gray and brown shades that look like they’ve been faded before being fitted. place, and the new dashboard shape looks like it was designed by a 7 year old. Seriously, put a pillow on a park bench and you have those seats.
Worse yet, on the outside, they’ve enlarged the grille, and widened the headlights by doubling the height and pulling the lights above the fenders, which is a styling choice that looks terrible on the road. a car, it’s horrible on a truck.
It is just terrible.
This gets the most support and it’s not hard to see why. In fact, it stays the same, because as Caddywompis explained much of what’s bad about this mid-generation Ram refresh is only visible from the inside.
