There’s Something Very Unsettling About Park Beyond’s New Valentine’s Day Trailer

Upcoming theme park management sim park farther away gave us a lovely Valentine’s Day themed trailer, except, wait a minute, this isn’t adorable at all, my God. I’m sure Park Beyond will be fun – creating weird roller coasters and managing the basics of a spontaneous business is always the right time. But, sadly, there’s something seriously unsettling about its latest trailer.

Keep an eye on it here, if you dare:

The trailer doesn’t start off so bad. We get a fun look at some of the games and love-heart lanyard decorations that cover the park in a soft, sweet pink. Silver fox Phil guides us through the trailer, making the announcement through the park’s loudspeaker in a cheerful, enthusiastic voice. But, the longer things go on, the weirder they get and I guess it’s all a coincidence.

It’s hard to pinpoint what exactly makes the trailer a bit jarring. Moments later, the music introduces the eerie bells normally reserved for haunted house movies. Phil also becomes increasingly creepy as the trailer goes on; Teleport into the ferris wheel to scare an unsuspecting couple, appearing in the background of other shots with uncanny camera zoom. His announcement almost turned into commandment as he snarled “let’s love each other” across the park. All built together, it felt like a strange fever dream that I woke up afterwards, drenched in sweat and confused.

Maybe I just have third blues. The trailer showed some cool ways you can customize the park’s walkways, games, and stalls, and I’m sure Park Beyond will be a great time for fans of the simulation game. management simulation like Roller Coaster Tycoon, but this trailer just proves that not every game needs a Valentine’s Day trailer. Check Out Two Point’ Facility recent trailer if you want to see a not so scary way to do the same thing.

Besides, Park Beyond is shaping up to be a good ride. In her first impressionAliceB thinks Park Beyond is a fun and somewhat ridiculous sim with an impressive set of tools for making games.

Scary, or funny? We’ll know later this year when Park Beyond releases on PC Steam and control panel.
