‘There’s more stories to tell’: Netflix’s Vikings Valhalla could return after season 3
Vikings creator Valhalla has hinted that Netflix’s hit historical drama could continue in some form after a third season.
Speak to TechRadar privately first Valhalla of the Vikings season 2released, presenter Jeb Stuart expressed hope that Netflix refresh the show for a fourth season or potentially green light some spinoffs.
For now, Vikings Valhalla will end after season three, with Netflix only renewing for two more seasons (in March 2022) after season one premieres. Additionally, Valhalla’s story has been confirmed to end with the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066, marking the end of the Viking Age.
Vikings Valhalla season three, already filmed, will definitely end one of these Best Netflix show‘ main stories by portraying the Battle of Stamford Bridge on the small screen. If the series’ third entry brings the curtain down on the Viking era, viewers may wonder how it can continue without any more stories to tell.
Even so, Stuart is optimistic about Valhalla’s future after season three. The Fugitive and Die Hard writer won’t comment on whether season three will actually end with the Battle of Stamford Bridge or Netflix has quietly informed him that it’s renewing Vikings Valhalla for a fourth season. However, Stuart is happy to return more installments, citing that he wants to continue the journey of Leif Erikson, Harald Sigurdsson and Freydís Eiríksdóttir in some form.
“We have completed [filming on] part three,” Stuart confirmed when TechRadar asked for an update on its development, “And we’ll work on it. [post-production] in a few months.
“It’s been a great journey for us, but we feel like we have more Valhalla stories to tell. We hope our good friends at Netflix believe it too because we have a lot of stories about all these characters out there.”
So can we expect to see Vikings Valhalla season four? Much depends on how well season two and three perform. The first season of Vikings Valhalla racked up over 266 million watch hours between February and April 2022, so its subsequent seasons will need to equal or surpass that number for Netflix to consider an extension for a single ride. go to another game.
If Vikings Valhalla season three is the final installment of the historical TV series, how does its second season lead up to the events of the show’s potentially final outing? Stuart won’t give away too much, but has interestingly hinted at how season two will set up its successor.
“Season two turns to season three in a very important way,” he teased. “At the end of this season, I think there’s some sort of great ending. At the same time, a big door opens that leads us to a third season, which I’m really excited about.”
