In Goa, Make It Happen – a tourism initiative started by Murali Shankaran, 37, and his wife, Maria Victor, 38 – is also trying to preserve ancestral homes. They invite people to spend time at home, meet the owners and hear their stories. A portion of the revenue from ticket sales is used to maintain the house.
