The Witcher’s multiplayer spin-off may be restarting development

Last year, CD publisher Projekt Red announced Project Sirius, a spin-off of witch from Molasses Flood – the studio behind Fire During the Flood and Drakes Hollow. But it looks like we need to wait a while longer to see the untitled project, as it looks like it’s being restarted to start development from scratch.

in one regulation statement Since last night, the CDPR wrote that it has established an “attenuated grant” related to “expenses incurred in the scope of development work related to Project Sirius.” In layman’s terms, the publisher is looking to clear the amount allocated up to PLN 42.9 million (about £7 million) to Project Sirius.

The CDPR also said the “decision was based on an assessment of the scope and commercial potential” of Project Sirius and that it was “developing a new framework for this project”. In a statement to EurogamerA CDPR spokesperson said, “Our current focus is on ensuring that Project Sirius aligns with CD Projekt Group’s strategy,” which sounds like they’re restarting development.

I have previously reported on some Work list hinting that Sirius could be a stylized, multiplayer-focused RPG, and some mention of branching storylines and social activities sounds pretty cool. Who doesn’t want to kill monsters with friends, before throwing a party in the dorm at the Witcher School?

Every publisher is looking for their hugely successful live streaming service to make millions of dollars a year – although CDPR’s powerful RPGs have been around for a long time, in terms of sales. . With that in mind, it’s not too surprising to see CDPR focusing on the project’s “commercial potential”. We won’t know anything for sure until Sirius is out in the wild.

In the meantime, we won’t be starving for Witcher content. CDPR already exists announced a brand new trilogy of Witcher games, while the first The Witcher is getting a fancy Unreal Engine 5 remake from the crew at The Fool’s Theory. If you’re looking for the Witchery experience right now, The Witcher 3 next generation update is out and recent fixes seems to have fixed some of the performance issues plaguing PC users.
