The White House plans to hold a Juneteenth Celebration


For the second year in a row, President Joe Biden And First Lady Jill Biden will host one day sixteen concert on Juneteenth to celebrate America’s newest holiday.

As previously reported, Biden officially made Juneteenth a national holiday in June 2021. The holiday honors Black history, celebrates how far we have come, and recognizes unfinished work.

Since taking office, President Biden has worked to advance racial justice and secure the promise of America for Black Americans. The Biden-Harris Administration has consistently worked to advance equity and opportunity for Black Americans and communities across the country.

These efforts include increased economic opportunities for Black families, pouring resources into Black businesses, increasing housing access, and targeting discrimination in the housing market , while ensuring equitable opportunities for Black students.

Details about this year’s Juneteenth Celebration at the White House

This year’s concert celebration will also take place during Black Music Month. It will be held on the South Lawn of the White House and features a stacked roster of Black artists who have each made their mark on culture in the studio, podium and stage during their successful careers. This list includes:

  • Brittney Spencer
