The United States Soccer Federation announced Wednesday that it has reached an agreement to pay the U.S. Men’s National Team and the U.S. Women’s National Team equally, eliminating a controversial pay gap that has plagued the United States. Female players earn less.
The new collective bargaining agreement will be in effect until 2028 and includes the “balancing” of World Cup bonuses, announced organization.
In February, the governing body and the women’s team announce a settlement to settle a protracted pay dispute, with the federation agreeing to pay the two teams equally in the next league contract and return the women’s team $22 million.
