The special space-themed Bentley Bentayga is done
Mulliner, Bentley’s custom in-house division, has been tasked with completing a unique space-themed vehicle. Speed Bentayga. Commissioned by Bentley Orlando in the US, this one-off machine draws inspiration from Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center, both not far from the dealership.
Externally, this particular Bentayga gets a metallic gray ‘Cypress’ exterior paint along with the use of the Black Line Specification replacing chrome with glossy black paint. Elsewhere, the ‘Orange Flame’ accent feels like a ‘solar blast’ and adorns the door sills, diffuser visor and front splitter.
The theme of space is most evident on the illuminated spike plates, which depict planets orbiting the solar system. There are also orange trims around the ‘Enchanting Galaxy Stone’ placed on the dashboard, a pattern that is reflected on the door trims.
Orange is also used for the piping on the seats, door tags and for the unique Bentley badges. The center steering wheel is also covered in orange, so is the gear lever. The rest of the interior is decorated with Beluga leather and Porpoise leather, which the brand claims creates a ‘dark sky, night sky’ contrast with colored light rays.
Bentayga Speed’s W12 6.0 liter twin-turbo powertrain remains unchanged for this bespoke model, so while its 190mph top speed makes it the World’s fastest SUVit is still far from the 17,500mph that the Space Shuttle is capable of.
