The signer of the Derby Trail

Signer | Chelsea Durand
‘TDN’s Rising Star‘ Signer (faucet), this week’s eighth TDN Top 12 Derby, hasn’t trained for 60 days and isn’t on the GI Kentucky Derby trail, according to a tweet from the West Point Thoroughbreds co-owner. The winner on October 14 at the Belmont meeting at the Aqueduct, Signator was a $1.7 million purchase during OBS’s April sale last spring. His most recent defeat came in three light winds after dislocating his ankle in the fall.
Bred by Purebred Gainesway and coached by Shug McGaughey, Signator is also owned by a partnership of Woodford Racing, Gainesway Stable, Phipps Stable, Ken Langone, Edward Hudson, Jr. and Lane’s End Racing.
