The shooting at Michigan State University adds to the death toll on college campuses in recent decades.

The violence at Michigan State University on Monday was the latest in a series of mass shootings on university campuses in the United States over the past few decades.
Here are some of them:
November 2022: Charlottesville, Va.
Three University of Virginia students, all on the soccer team, were killed when a gunman shooting in the garage.
October 2015: Roseburg, Ore.
A 26 year old man shooting on Umpqua . community college campus in southern Oregon, killing 10 people.
April 2012: Oakland, Calif.
A former student opened fire on students and staff at University of Oikoskilled seven people.
April 2007: Blacksburg, Va.
The killed 33 people at Virginia Tech was one of the worst campus shootings in US history. Two more people died in a shooting on the same campus almost five years later.
May 1970: Kent, Ohio
Four students have was shot dead on the campus of Kent State University by members of the Ohio National Guard who were breaking up a protest against President Nixon’s expansion of the Vietnam War into Cambodia.
August 1966: Austin, Texas
