The September meetup at Los Alamitos will begin on September 16


Four shares worth a total of $300,000 highlight Thoroughbred’s September 2022 meetup at Racetrack Los Alamitos.

The seven-day season will begin on Friday, September 16 and continue through Sunday, September 25. Races will be conducted from Friday-Sunday of the first week (September 16-18. ) and Thursday-Sunday (September 22-25) the last four days. Posting times will be 1pm (PST) on weekdays (September 16, 22 and 23) and 12:30pm on weekends (September 18-19 and 24-25).

The first of the stock races was the $75,000 EB Johnston for kids 3 years old and up who were bred or bred in California. The one-mile race will take place on Saturday, September 17.

The next day’s kids and mares — kids 3 and up — will join a $75,000 Dark Mirage Stock 1 1/16 miles away.

Completing the schedule are the $75,000 Los Alamitos Special for kids ages 3 and up at 1/16 mile and the $75,000 Capote car for 2-year-olds aged 6 1/2. The special will be offered on Saturday, September 24 while Capote will be running on the closing day, Sunday, September 25.

The betting menu includes a pair of $1 Pick 4 in 2-5 races and the last four races plus a $2 Pick 6 as well as Player’s Pick 5 — minimum bet of 50 coins at odds eating reduced to 14%—In the first five races.

Picking Six will have a standard 70-30 split with 70% of the total going to those tickets with six winners and the remaining 30% going to tickets with five of the six winners.

Tournament races will be all-cards at Los Alamitos with bets allowed including win, placement, show, exact, triples and daily doubles. Each participant must bet at least $50 on a minimum of five races that day, but there is no wagering limit.

The player with the highest amount at the end of the day will be declared the winner and the player with the second highest amount will be the runner-up.

The winner will receive 50% of the total prize. Remaining payout ratio: 20% (2nd place), 15% (3rd place), 7.5% (4th place) and 7.5% (Most money position).

Entries for the opening date of the September Thoroughbred meeting will be made on Tuesday, September 13.
