While it’s hard to type Rattle N Roll may not have started in the biggest ever Derby but on the first Saturday in May the Lucky Seven Stable runner collected his third Derby win of 2022 with a last-to-first-ever finish. The $400,000 Oklahoma Derby (G3) September 25 at Remington Park.

Coach Kenny McPeek was quick to credit Rattle N Roll’s success to his steady racer over the past two years. Brian Hernandez was above his 3-year-old son Link except for two of his 13 careers starting and regularly partnering with the pony through his morning breezes.
Closer consistently, the Rattle N Roll took its traditional spot at the back as the Red Knobs led the eight-horse team through the initial fractions of: 23.59 and: 47.76. In the rear half, Rattle N Roll decided it was time to go and dragged Hernandez from last to first in a sweeping motion around the final turn.
“I just learned to stay away from him, and when he wants to run away, you just get away from him and let him do his thing,” Hernandez said. “He’s just getting better and better.”
Defeating his rivals at the quadruple pole, Rattle N Roll looks home free until the Texas Derby winner Ottoman King charged to the chestnut’s flank with an extension cord.
Hernandez said: “When he heard (the Ottoman King) was coming to him, he got engaged again and held out quite simply. “He did it in his own way. I just need to be a good passenger.”
The Rattle N Roll ($4.80) overtook the 1/2 length winner in 1:49.50 for 1 1/8 mile on the fast track. The Ottoman king is 9 1/4 length ahead of even money favorites Best Leading Actor in part three.
As the winner of last year’s Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) contest, Rattle N Roll only shy of $1 million in earnings after Sunday night’s win. Keeneland’s September sales of $210,000 recorded his third win of the season, after catching the American Derby and the St. Louis by Fanduel Sportsbook.

Hits Pricey Legacy, an 11-1 shot driven by Jose Alvarez, stays in impressive distance until a late push pasts Juju’s map is fading and second favorite is Free Like a Girl (5-2) to win the 1/16 mile race. for 3-year-old fillings. She stopped the clock at 1:45.39.

With only half a mile to go, the swarm started closing in on the tops, and Free Like a Girl sent her moving outside the Map of Juju, two parts wide. Then, with three tongs to go, Hits Pricey Legacy almost pulled even with Free Like a Girl. Juju’s map dropped to third. When they changed direction and headed home, Hits Pricey Legacy took the lead. Juju’s map of Tuesday, and Hannah’s Paradisewith a score of 54-1, ranked fourth.
Hits Pricey Legacy, daughter of Den’s Legacy and High Price Hit, of Concord Point, paid $24 to win. She is a hybrid trained by CR Trout. Her record improved to 4-2-1 in seven starts.
