A little while later 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS‘launched online, Porsche has announced a retro version that pays tribute to a classic model.
Revealed at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, during Monterey Car Week, the custom showcase car pays tribute to the 1972 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, and will be the model for the US-exclusive Tribute to Carrera RS Package , Porsche said Friday at a press release.

The Carrera RS 2.7 is designed as a special version for racing cars, with a more powerful engine, emphasis on weight reduction and aerodynamic elements such as its signature ducktail spoiler. So it is the ancestor of the modern 911 GT3 RS. The new package will honor that car’s 50th anniversary.
The 911 GT3 RS memorial car features a dominant white and Python green, referring to one of the color combinations. available on Carrera RS back in the day. The theme continues with Python Green wheels with white stripes, custom taillights, and white painted rear wing panels with the RS logo in Python Green. At the front, the headlights sport a white striped ring, while the interior is decorated and contrasted with white stitching to match the exterior, as well as a Python blue painted roll cage.
2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS honors Carrera RS
The 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS itself continues to follow the RS model, with more thrust, more power and lighter weight Standard 911 GT3. Sports car-inspired aerodynamics, including a drag-reduction system (DRS), which generates 900 lb of downforce at 124 mph and 1,895 lb at 177 mph, Porsche claims. A test version of the GT3’s 4.0-liter flat-six produces 518 hp and revs to 9,000 rpm.
Pricing and availability information for the Tribute to Carrera RS Bundle is not yet available as the project is still in its early stages. But we know that it will be the goal of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur personalization division, also rolling out to North America only 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet American version for the 2023 model year.
