The peaceful and luxurious getaway of the Riviera Maya •

Still dreaming of our wonderful getaway to Rosewood Mayakoba! Last October, Kevin and I both celebrated our 30order birthday, and we treated ourselves resting place at Rosewood Mayakoba in Mexico. Needless to say, it was God’s will!
Since flights to Cancun from Dallas are quick and easy, and there are so many different places to explore within driving distance of this vibrant tourist town, it’s our favorite place to hide. when a little R&R is needed. When Kevin and I travel, we love to visit hotels that offer self-experience. With gorgeous overwater bungalows, award-winning spas, endless fine-dining restaurants, serene beaches and multiple pools, endless activities, and more – we already knew Resort will have everything we love and more!

Airport transportation
Rosewood Mayakoba is located 45 minutes from Cancun airport, making it very easy to reach from most US cities. We’ve heard so many great reviews about Resort from friends, so we decided it would be a great spot to maximize four days of travel with minimal travel time!

We opted to use hotel transportation from the airport and if you’ve ever flown down to Cancun airport you know that getting out of the airport can be a bit chaotic with dozens of people crowding you at the door to Request taxi service. With Rosewood’s shuttle service, they were easy to see as we exited the airport, helped with our luggage, a car with snacks and drinks waiting for us, and free Wifi. The driver was also able to answer our questions about the resort and get us excited when we arrived!
Transportation did not disappoint when we left the resort. We had the same snacks and drinks on our way back to the airport, but what really stood out was how much detail they paid to make sure we had all the correct paperwork to get through the airport seamlessly – especially needed now with the COVID Document Claims surcharge! Someone from Rosewood also stayed with us during check-in and led us to the escalator where we passed through security. Many people scrambled in this area to fill out the requested forms and we are very grateful to our housekeeper and hotel staff for keeping us organized in this regard!

Comming
The appearance at Rosewood Mayakoba brought us to Hotel des Bergues in Geneva a race for their money! Our driver gave us a quick tour of Mayakoba and pointed out several areas he recommended we see off properties, such as Cenote in the gates of Mayakoba. Once we reach hotel, we were greeted by several members of staff as they guided us through our check-in journey. It started in the main lobby, then boarded one of their boats with a complimentary welcome drink that took us to our suite, where we were met by our butler who gave us a tour. Villa tour. We fell in love with the resort right away!
Room
You can even call it a room? It’s bigger than most NYC apartments! We had a large living room and dining area overlooking the heated pool, deck, and lagoon. The large glass walls are completely retracted to bring the outside in. On the other side of the villa is a gorgeous bathroom with separate vanity, a soaking tub and a gorgeous outside shower. The floor-to-ceiling windows in this room are also beautiful, and I wish I could wake up to see this view every day!

Mayakoba
We didn’t do much research prior to arrival, so we were surprised to learn that Mayakoba is not a city of its own, but a resort built in the town of Quintana Roo. This was great because we felt completely safe cycling along the Mayakoba bike paths and knew we were still on the property.
The location ranges from amazing white sand beaches to emerald lagoons like two destinations in one! Another thing we love is that other hotels in Mayakoba (Fairmont, Banyan Tree, & Andaz) welcomed us to dine at their premises and we were able to charge for their room. me at Rosewood! There is also free transportation between the hotels by boat or their black SUV.
Service
The service at Rosewood Mayakoba made our experience unforgettable. Every room has private butler, who can be contacted at any time of the day through the resort app. One evening we asked for ice to make a cocktail and our housekeeper not only brought us ice but stayed to make our cocktails!

Our butler would also look for us when we were at the beach to make sure we were having a good time and if we needed anything. In addition to the excellent service from our housekeeper, all the staff at the property were wonderful and happy to help. Everyone was very professional but never felt stuffy.
Beauty salon
My husband and I always enjoy booking spa appointments on every vacation – after all, our lives in Dallas are hectic, so we love using our vacation to really relax! Beauty salon at Rosewood Mayakoba is consistently rated as one of the best in the country, and it’s no surprise that you experience this peaceful jungle escape. You’ll love spending the day escaping into the spa’s lush tropical paradise while enjoying some of the best spa treatments ever. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
