After a period of time almost three yearsHulu’s season 3 Orville finally debuted last month and proved to be waiting. Now, creator Seth MacFarlane has announced some additional compensation for fans – the first three seasons of the series will also stream on Disney+.
Orville was relatively popular with critics, but moved from a much wider distribution with Fox to Hulu’s smaller audience after two seasons. However, with more than 85 million subscribers worldwide, Disney+ will significantly expand its potential audience.
“I’m happy to bring all three seasons Orville for Disney+,” said MacFarlane. Doing this show has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career and I’m incredibly grateful to Disney for giving us the opportunity to expand Orville remote community. I can’t wait for new audiences to experience this series. “
The extra eyeballs on The Orville with Disney+ could prove important to the series, as it has yet to be greenlit for a fourth season. MacFarlane himself didn’t reveal anything in that regard, saying “I don’t think we’ll know until this season is over.” The final two episodes of season 3 will air on July 28 and August 4, and all three seasons will premiere on Disney+ on August 10.
