The opening rate made Ryan Garcia lose heavily to Gervonta Davis
Following the official announcement of one of the must-see matches of 2023, the odds have now been announced for Gervonta Davis’ exciting weightlifting match against Ryan Garcia.
‘Tank’ Davis has been recognized as one of the heaviest boxers in the sport.
With 26 knockouts in a 28-match unbeaten streak and countless outstanding stoppages, Davis’ fearsome prowess is undoubtedly his greatest weapon.
Another advantage ‘Tanks’ had before the game was his performance, he took on Hector Luis Garcia in January, where he won by knockout in the ninth round.
Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia will only complete six rounds in the twelve months before he steps into the ring, as he impressed in a devastating match against Javier Fortuna back in July.
‘KingRy’ is also undefeated, boasting 19 stops in his 23 games, with his blazing pace continuing to cause problems for every opponent he faces.
The bout was placed in an attractive weight class of 136 lbs, just over a pound more than a standard lightweight bout, a weight class that would be a match for Davis.
‘The Tank’ has held both the IBF and WBA ultralight world titles, and established itself as lightweight in 2021, while Ryan Garcia moved up to ultralight last year and declared that he would never fight at lightweight again.

The odds are leaning in favor of strength and weight over Garcia’s speed, with William Hill valuing Gervonta Davis as a favorite 1/3 (-300). Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia has been considered the weaker 5/2 (+250) in the fight, despite being the faster and bigger one.
The American duo will face off in the ring on April 22 in Las Vegasand it has been confirmed that Showtime will produce and broadcast the event but it will also be available for purchase as DAZN pay-per-view.
