The Only 401(k) Savers Who Didn’t Lose Money Last Year

The only workers who have
401(k) balance increase in 2022 as Gen Z savers are still decades away from retirement, according to new data from Honest Investment.
While the average rate in Fidelity accounts is down 23% in 2022, Gen Z workers born between 1997 and 2012 have grown 14%, the investment firm and retirement plan provider for know. Any other age lost money. The data shows that this is not investing savvy or beginner luck but the luck of not having invested as much when the market crashed.
