Elizabeth Francis’ Family Describes Her
Francis was cared for by 69-year-old Ethel when she died. The niece told ABC that Francis passed away peacefully while surrounded by family in Houston, Texas. Harrison also spoke to the newspaper about the type of person her grandmother was: lovely.
“She loved God. Her faith is incredibly strong,” Harrison said. “She was always, you know, happy, you know, ‘How are you? Are you Okay?’ That was just her personality,” Ethel said.
Additionally, Ethel said the supercentenarian’s motto is to treat people the way they want to be treated. Elizabeth Francis’ death is not the first time she has appeared in the media. Last year, she gagged Houston’s KTRK-TV audience during her 114th birthday celebration by joking that she was still a “chick.”
At the time, her daughter Dorothy Williams said it was a “luck” for her mother to be alive at that age. The 96-year-old woman said her mother was a wonderful mother and grandmother and the “pillar” of the family.
More details about the 115-year-old man’s life
Elizabeth Francis was born in 1909, during a time when women often gave birth at home. Not only that, during that time, black people and women could not vote in America. Now, in just 12 days, VP Kamala Harris, a black woman, will learn her fate her campaign for the President of the United States.
Last year, Francis also revealed that her secret to living a long life is not smoking or drinking alcohol. However, she admits that she does not restrict her diet too much; instead, she ate everything! Her niece said she also cooks often, preferring home-cooked meals to fast food. In addition, Mrs. Harrison also said that she is 115 years old and grows her own vegetables and takes care of her body.
