The new Honda WR-V scored a perfect 5 in the ASEAN NCAP crash tests


The Honda WR-V has earned a 5-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash tests. The small SUV model launched by Honda Cars in the Southeast Asian market has achieved an overall score of 77.07 in the recently held crash test. In the new generation, the WR-V offers enhanced safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, pre-tensioned seat belts and many more. The SUV also offers safety assist technologies such as automatic emergency braking, lane assist and highway driving assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams.

Honda Cars recently launched the new generation WR-V small SUV for the South Asian market.

The SUV tested by ASEAN NCAP comes equipped with four airbags as standard. Vehicles are also equipped with Electronic Stability System (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for front occupants and Pedestrian Protection technology.

During testing, the Honda WR-V earned 34.26 points for the category of Adult Protection and 16.78 points for the category of evaluation of Child occupant protection. It also scored 15.58 points for Safety Assist and 10.45 points for the Motorcyclist Safety category.

The new Honda WR-V is larger in size than the version sold in India. The vehicle is 4,060 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,608 mm high. It is about 60 mm longer, 46 mm wider and 7 mm taller than the WR-V sold in India. The new WR-V also comes with an increased ground clearance to 220 mm. The new Honda WR-V is offered with two wheel size options ranging from 16-inch and 17-inch alloys.

The interior of the WR-V has also undergone some changes. Fitted with a two-tone two-tone interior, the WR-V features leather seats with red stitching. The center console has a digital infotainment screen and a 4.2-inch semi-digital TFT driver display. Trunk space has also been increased to 380 liters, 17 liters more than the WR-V Indian version. Honda also provides the WR-V SUV with connected car technology and other modern features.
