The Nets rule Ben Simmons out of the 4 vs. Celtics

After all, Ben Simmons’ debut with the Brooklyn Nets may not happen this season.

After the previous Target Game 4 As the day he returns to court is highly anticipated, the Nets are now ruling Simmons out of Monday’s game, according to Shams Charania by The Athletic. With Brooklyn trailing 3-0 in the series, that means Simmons will be out of action until the 2022-23 season.

Simmons, 25, was traded to the Nets in February as part of a blockbuster deal that brought James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers. The three-time All-Star point guard has yet to play for Brooklyn due to herniated disc in the back. Prior to the trade, Simmons sidelined the first three months of the season after claiming a trade from the 76ers during the season.

On Friday, Simmons spoke to reporters and said he feels confident his first minutes with the Nets won’t be accompanied by growing pains.
