The mother-of-two shares her incredible 12-week weight loss process

A busy mother-of-two feeling unhappy with her skin during lip-locking has lost nearly 12kg in just 12 weeks and changed her lifestyle.

Sarah Gibson, from Melbourne, got tired of trying many out-of-fashion diets with no lasting results, so she joined The Healthy Mummy community.

Dedicating herself to New Year’s Weight Loss Determination, Sarah dropped to 71.5kg on January 1, 2022 and is now 59.7kg.

Since taking part in the 28-Day Weight Loss Challenge, the 33-year-old says she has completely changed ‘everything she ever knew’ about diet and exercise.

She told The Healthy Mummy: “Intuitive eating has changed my life – I feel like I finally have the physical and mental completeness I was born with.

Sarah said her clothes were often tight and her body would hurt terribly, so she knew something needed to be changed.

‘Like millions of others, I made my New Year’s Resolution to “be leaner, healthier and lose weight”, and for the first time in my life I stuck with it and it worked! ” she speaks.

‘It [the weight] dropped pretty quickly at first but has slowed down now. Interestingly, the slower the scale moves, the more changes I see, so it really reiterates the fact that slow weight loss is much better for our bodies than rapid weight loss. ‘

Before participating, she tried to lose weight on her own and lost 3 kg, but didn’t feel like she was making any progress.

The 28-day program gave Sarah the tools and eating plan she needed to lose weight in a healthy way.

When it comes to exercise, Sarah loves the ’28 Days Stronger’ exercise routine with Natalia Melo.

Exercises that focus on fat loss and lean muscle building with exercise routines that are easy and perfect for beginners to follow.

Sarah said: “I just went from beginner to advanced and I can’t believe the difference from where I started to now.

Sarah’s tips for weight loss:

1. Consistency is the absolute key. Some weeks I lose, some weeks I gain, but I know if I’m consistent, I’m on the right track

2. Remember to drink water – make sure you stay hydrated and limit calories through drinks

3. Have fun! If you don’t like certain exercises – change them up. If you don’t like certain foods, eat what you like and learn how they can be different with your new healthy lifestyle.

Since she lost the unwanted kilos, Sarah has noticed benefits both physically and mentally.

Now that she sleeps straight for up to 8 hours at a time (if her baby doesn’t wake her up), her mood is generally better and she has enough energy to do whatever she likes. .

‘Physically, I’m feeling the healthiest and most fulfilled of my life. I never thought I would be someone who aspires to exercise, and not only that, but loves to push myself to my physical limits,’ she said.

‘I can see changes in my skin, my face has lost its puffiness, my body has become toned and I look in the mirror and see a happy woman looking back.

‘Mentally, I no longer struggle with cravings and guilt for eating what’s known as ‘bad food’. ”

Sarah adds that she suffers from Hasimoto’s disease (underactive thyroid also known as hypothyroidism) and has tried ‘every sun diet with no success’.

‘I can promise you that if I can do it, you can too!’ she speaks.
