The Mandalorian Season 3, Episode 5 Easter Eggs: 6 Things You Missed in Chapter 21: Pirates
The plot is really starting to emerge in Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) managed to get along pretty well with Din Djarin’s Children of the Watch. Nevarro and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) are once again attacked, this time by pirates, and a New Republic pilot wants to help – but the Republic itself is not. And Djarin (Pedro Pascal) himself and his cult Mando friends seem poised for more action after last week’s battle with the lizard bird.
Warning: This article contains major spoilers for the March 29 episode of The Mandalorian, Chapter 21: Pirates.
Do you remember in the premiere of Season 3 when several pirate thugs threatened Greef Karga and Mando, then Mando had to kill all but one of them before sending the last one away with a warning for Pirate King Gorian Shard? Well, that creepy seaweed man brought his big ship to Nevarro and put the planet under siege.
Karga managed to send a message to the pilot of the New Republic Carson Teva, who had appeared several times before on The Mandalorian. Teva wanted the Republic to intervene, but they wouldn’t – and so he told Djarin and the other Palestinians about the situation in the hope that they would face to face with it. Inspired by Paz Vizsla’s fiery speech and Karga’s promise of the Nevarro lands, the Children of the Guard seized the opportunity to show off their muscles against the pirate king.
While Season 3 of The Mandalorian certainly doesn’t make references to other Star Wars stuff as often as previous installments did, we still have a collection of nods. healthy not only for the larger Star Wars universe but also for ourselves.
