The episode begins in Numenor, where Queen Regent Miriel (Cynthia Addai Robninson) gathers with her court, meeting the newborn babies of the kingdom.

She meets the young mother (Laura Medes), who says she will name the child Alinel, as Miriel tries to bless the child when a rumbling sound is heard.

Miriel tries to put the women at ease, saying, ‘Sometimes our island just needs a stretch,’ though the commotion continued to grow louder.

The roaring winds created a tidal wave of water, rushing through the mountains that protected the kingdom, as bridges and buildings crumbled… before it was revealed to be one of Miriel’s nightmares. .

She wakes up to one of her maids saying it’s been a ‘perfect day’ and asking what business she’d like to start her day with.

The episode cuts through the streets of Numenor, where wounded Tamar (Jason Hood) begs the queen to call Galadriel and Halbrand to court.

‘Elf’s mate attacks four guildman and Miriel offers her tea?’ Tamar said, when Earien (Ema Horvath) was passing by and overheard.

Tamar said to a group of his clan, “And while the goblins whisper poison in our Queen’s ears, who is speaking for us?”

Meanwhile, Kemen (Leon Wadham) searches for his father, Chancelor Pharazon (Trystan Gravelle), who has asked Kemen to keep his voice.

Pharazon told the youngster that: ‘Statecraft is the art of engaging in small matters as diligently as the big ones.

Kemen joked that he was just trying to appear smart, while Pharazon added, ‘Intelligence is for men with small ambitions. I want it more if you are wise, my son. ‘

Finally Pharazon asked what the problem was, as Kemen said they might have ‘our hands’.

The episode returns to Tamar, who is still talking to a growing crowd about the possibility of elves taking their jobs.

“I say the Queen is blind or elves,” said Tamar, as an employee added, “Like her father,” as Earien looked seriously.

The crowd started chanting, ‘Goblin!’ for a few moments, before the Pharazon entered their battle.

‘And if the house elf were here now, what would she see? Numenor’s men or a bunch of bewildered children? ‘ Pharaoh asked.

Both the studio and the estate began offering franchise TV rights to streaming services, with Amazon quickly becoming the leader.
