Jeep car released the first set of photos and details of the retro-styled Jeep CJ Surge concept. The new concept electric SUV will make its public debut in North America at the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in the US later this week.

Jeep CJ Surge: classic look with EV powertrain
The Jeep CJ Surge SUV concept, designed and built by vehicle customization company Mopar, has had an electric powertrain in place of the model’s standard six-series petrol engine and has received a visual overhaul. eye-catching photo. It now produces 266hp, which is about the same as the standard V6 Jeep Wrangler, with power supplied from a rear-mounted 50kWh battery. Power is sent to all four wheels, managed by a two-speed automatic transmission.
Jeep CJ Surge: rugged lines with car styling
The concept SUV is equipped with 18-inch wheels combined with 35-inch BF Goodrich off-road tires. It also has a two-inch thick windshield, as well as a lifter that can lift its suspension up to two inches. Winches, underbody guards and LED fog lights provided by Jeep Performance Parts also enhance the vehicle’s off-road capabilities. The CJ Surge’s rear storage compartment has a roll cage, while the outside is painted in bright orange ‘Copper Canyon’ paint.
Meanwhile, the concept’s blue bodywork and alloys allude to its all-electric platform and resemble the design of the recently revealed model. Jeep Avenger 4×4 and Jeep Wrangler Magneto concepts, both of which were revealed earlier this year. Houndstooth seat accents and custom-made steering wheel are fitted inside the cabin, while a gauge on the instrument cluster informs the driver of the remaining charge.
Jeep CJ Surge: concept only once for now
The Jeep CJ Surge concept EV is a rework of the standard gasoline-powered Jeep CJ-7 SUV and is a SEMA show-only concept. Jeep hasn’t confirmed whether it’s pushing the switch to factory EVs on existing older Jeep SUVs.
