The iPhone 14 finally works with one of the best features of Sonos speakers
If you have a Sonos audio system and an iPhone 14, you can now take advantage of Trueplay auto-tuning to get the most out of your speakers.
Use the Sonos app on a compatible Apple device – multiple apps included Best iPhone, Best iPadsand Best MacBooks and Macs – the user can adjust the sound of the speaker so that it is optimized for the room. This process takes a few minutes and involves holding your device in various places in the room as it analyzes the sound coming from your speakers.
Until recently iPhone 14″ scope incompatibility; however, a recent update to Sonos’ Official list of compatible devices (opens in a new tab) reveals that Apple’s latest phones now work with Trueplay. Unfortunately, some generations of iPad Pro tablets – including the latest generation iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2022) and iPad Pro 11-inch (2022) – still not compatible with Trueplay.
To get started with Trueplay, make sure the Sonos app and system operating system are updated to the latest version, open the Settings menu in the Sonos App, then go to System. Here, tap on the speaker you want to adjust and select the option to use Trueplay to optimize its sound.
Is there an alternative to Sonos’ Trueplay?
Trueplay is a useful tool that helps to establish the likes of Sonos One, Sonos . arcand even IKEA/Sonos collaboration products, such as Symfonisk photo frames and new floor lamp speaker. However, you don’t have to use Trueplay to get great sound from your setup.
Whether you have an Android phone or an iPhone, you can use manual EQ settings in the Sonos app to fine-tune your speaker’s sonic performance – adjusting the bass and treble to suit your preferences.
While not as simple as the automated process, this manual setup has several advantages. First, it can make the sound you like; Trueplay can make the sound too low or not enough bass for your taste. Alternatively, if you have multiple Sonos speakers, you can use manual tuning to boost the bass on booming speakers like the Sonos Sub, then ask other devices to focus on the treble to create a soundstage. fuller on your speaker system.
For us, the ultimate way to set up your Sonos speakers lies somewhere in the middle. We recommend using Trueplay to do most of the heavy lifting, then fine-tune the settings with the manual EQ controls.
